Melville Castle images
Overview
The magnificent Hotel Melville Castle is located eight miles south East of Edinburgh city centre in a secluded 50 acre wooded estate. Having been built in 1124 the hotel is thus steeped in history and has played host to such visitors and tenants as Mary Queen of Scots, Queen Victoria, King George IV and Sir Walter Scot. After being neglected and suffering from dry rot in 1993 the building became derelict and closed. Over eight years the castle was fully refurbished and opened again in 2003 as the elegant hotel you see today. Guest bedrooms are enchanting and offer en-suite, satellite TV, radio, hair dryer, telephone, modem access and WiFi internet, safe, mini fridge and ironing facilities. All bedrooms are strictly non-smoking. The castle also has it’s own restaurant, bar and extensive conferencing and banqueting facilities.

Review of 'Melville Castle'
We were traveling around Scotland with our daughter and son, both in their 20's. We had the most incredible time at Melville Castle. We were treated like family. Everyone there had a wonderful sense of humor and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Since our daughter and her husband live in Scotland, we will be returning and will be sure to visit Melville Castle again.
